Anthony J. DiNorscia Obituary
Anthony J. DiNorscia, age 86, of Kennett Square, PA, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 16, 2007.
He was the husband of Angela Clemente DiNorscia, who died in 2004, and with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. He was born in Madison, ME, and he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Mary Gale DiNorscia. Anthony attended St. Patrick's Parochial School, Kennett High School, and Fletcher Brown Vocational School in Wilmington, DE. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1942, in the Air Corps and served in the Pacific Theatre of War. He received his Honorable Discharge in 1946. Anthony operated the family mushroom business with his brother and father in the 1960's. He later worked as a mechanic for Mobac Construction Company in Kennett Square. Tony was a member of St. Patrick Church, the Italian American Club, the American Legion, and worked with the Fire Police of the Kennett Fire Company. He quite possibly had the largest ball cap collection in the area with over 500 hats.
Survivors include, 1 daughter, Mary Louise Johnson and her husband, William of Kennett Square, PA; 1 son, Joseph J. DiNorscia of Portland, OR; 2 brothers, Alfred J. DiNorscia and his wife, Margaret of Kennett Square, PA, and Joseph A. DiNorscia of Philadelphia, PA; 3 grandchildren, Stephen and Christina Plyler and David DiNorscia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am, Friday May 25, 2007, at St. Patrick Catholic Church 212 Meredith St. Kennett Square, PA 19348. Friends and family are invited to visit with his family from 7-9 pm, Thursday May 24 and from 8:30-9:30 am on the morning of the service at KUZO & GRIECO FUNERAL HOME INC., 250 West State St. Kennett Square, PA 19348. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.
